Tour itinerary

Day 1

Bogota, Plaza Bolivar, City hall, Cathedral

We arrive in Bogota and check into a hotel. Let`s begin our trip by the walk around the city, which was founded by the Spanish colonialists in the 16th century. Life here rages around the huge Plaza Bolivar, where circus performances and bullfights were staged during the time of the Spanish colonialists. Now tourists walk around the square, and locals sometimes gather for the next protest rally.

We consider the main architectural masterpieces of the country along the perimeter of the square - the Palace of Justice, Parliament, City Hall. But the main building, which immediately attracts all eyes, is the cathedral with spiers aiming at the sky. The church on this site was built four times, first wooden, then stone, but they were destroyed by fires and earthquakes. The cathedral that stands on the site now was built in 1823.

Day 2

Montserrat mountain, National cuisine restaurant, Salsa master class

In the morning we take the cable car up the Montserrat mountain. From the top of 3,251 meters above sea level, a view of the entire 8 millionth city opens up! Earlier Indians used to go up here to pray to their gods, because the mountain was considered sacred. In 1650 a Catholic monastery was built here, now visited by pilgrims from all over the country.

Dedicate more time to getting to know the national cuisine. We will try the famous local ajiaco potato soup. It includes several different varieties of potatoes, avocados, corn, sour cream and chicken. Another popular dish, bandeja paisa, is no less varied. It consists of beef, pork, beans, rice, fried bananas, eggs and avocado! We can shed all the calories at an evening salsa master class.

Day 3

Armenia region, Finca el Ocaso coffee plantations

In the morning we fly to Pereira and from there take a short trip to the colonial town of Salento. We ended up in Armenia - the region of the country where the best coffee beans in the world are grown! We settle in a colonial house and plunge into the unhurried life of coffee planters, which has changed little over the past hundreds of years.

Imagine sitting with a cup of aromatic coffee in your hands, and your gaze sliding along the bright green slopes, slender rows of coffee plants and the shadows of the mountains that can be seen in the distance...
After lunch we head to the Finca el Ocaso coffee plantations. Here we will learn about all stages of growing and brewing the favorite drink of people all over the world.
