Tour itinerary

Day 1-3

Isla Mujeres island, Beaches, South Cape, Underwater museum, Palenque

We arrive in Cancun and take a ferry to Isla Mujeres. If you think you've seen crystal clear sea water before, then you just haven't been to this Caribbean island! The word “transparent” has a completely different meaning here. And the variety of the underwater world and corals will delight even avid divers. We will enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches, take a walk to the South Cape, those who wish can visit the underwater museum with hundreds of original sculptures. In the evening we return to Cancun and leave for Palenque in a comfortable night bus.

In the morning we check into a hotel and set off to explore the ancient Mayan city - an archaeological complex with pyramids, a palace and an observatory hidden in the jungle. The city, which flourished in the 7th century, is smaller than other Mayan cities. On the other hand, bas-reliefs, sculptures, elements of facades and inscriptions are much better preserved here, by which scientists were able to learn a lot about civilization. And how many secrets are hidden in the jungle that surrounds Palenque! After all, scientists believe that another 90% of the territory of the ancient city is under the thickets and layers of soil! I wonder what treasures the next generations of archaeologists will find there? ...

Day 4-5

San Cristobal de las Casas, Misol Ha and Agua Azul waterfalls, San Juan Chamula village

By minibus we leave for the old colonial city of San Cristobal de las Casas (5 hours on the way). On the way, we will make two stops to swim in the pristine waterfalls Misol Ha and Agua Azul. In the city we check into a hotel and head for a walk to admire Spanish colonial architecture, colorful houses, noisy bazaars and observe local life.

We will also visit the village of San Juan Chamula, home to a very unusual church. There are no photos from the ceremonies that are held here - the Mayans who live in this village believe that photographs anger the gods and spoil the souls of people.

They call themselves Christians, but they sacrifice chickens in the church. Depending on what problems the believer came to church with he lights a candle of a certain color. In the church parishioners drink a local alcoholic drink - posh with cola, and then they turn on cheerful music and dance. Few atheists will not like this place!

Day 6-8

Sumidero canyon, Boat trip, Pochutla village, Beaches of the Pacific, Cape Punta Cometa

Today we will take a boat trip in Sumidero canyon - a real miracle of nature. These rocks are a kilometer tall! We will also enjoy the views from panoramic platforms. Then on a comfortable night bus we move to the Pacific Ocean to the village of Pochutla (12 hours on the way) and check into a hotel.

We enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, visit the villages of Mazunte and Zipolitte, walk to Cape Punta Comet to watch the amazingly beautiful sunset on the sea. We dine at one of the beach restaurants, enjoying the freshest seafood to the sound of the waves. Pay attention to the ceviche made from fresh shrimp and octopus. The seafood is sliced and then poured with fresh lime juice and sprinkled with chili peppers, corn, or garnished with potato cubes.

The next day is free. Those who wish can visit the Turtle Center, the lagoon where crocodiles and iguanas live, or go snorkeling.
