Tour description

Lycian way in southern Turkey is known as one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world. It stretches through the territory of the ancient kingdom of Lycia, known for its unique culture since the 1st millennium BC. We will visit several out of this world national parks, fabulous bays, famous canyons, remains of the ancient Roman city, enjoy the sea and get to know hospitable locals.

Is this trip for you?

This trip is of average physical grade. It is suitable for people with normal health and does not require any skills or hiking experience. During this trip we will carry our own camping equipment and some of the supplies. This will be divided among all members and will approximately reach 4 kg per person. During 9 days we will walk for 110 km, from 7 to 20 km per day. We will spend nights in tents and will be able to bath in rivers and the sea. We will prepare our own food on a camp fire. 

The price of the trip includes:

  • Three meals per day;
  • Camping and cooking equipment;
  • First aid kit;
  • Entry to Goynuk canyon (except the upper part);
  • Accommodation in pansion in the national park;
  • Professional guding services.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Antalya and back home;
  • Bus from Antalya to Goynuk canyon and from Phaselis to Antalya ($30-40);
  • Entry tickets to places of interest ($25)

Tour itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Antalya, checking into a hotel in the historic part of the city.

Day 2-3

After breakfast, we take a bus to Geynek (30 km), where we begin our trek. We walk to the picturesque canyon where we take a boat to two waterfalls. This national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ascend: 300 m. Walking distance: 8 km.

Day 4

After breakfast we descend to the bottom of the canyon. The landscape is rapidly changing, forming a true kaleidoscope of impressions! We are surrounded by the labyrinths of giant rubble of rocks, shaped by water for thousands of years. Finally, we see first signs of civilization: pomegranate and almond groves, guesthouses and see the mosque framed by mountains. We go west to the southern slopes of the mountain Kandilchik and soon find ourselves in the huge basin enjoying out of this world views of the mountain village Gedelme and Mount Olympus. We go down to the village, stock up on supplies, put up our tents nearby and cook dinner. Ascend: 500 m. Walking distance: 16 km.
