Tour description

We will spend two weeks exploring the best spots of two neighbouring countries - Malaysia and Indonesia. In Kuala Lumpur we will visit Petronas twin towers, on Penang island enjoy some of the best cuisine in the world, and in old Melacca discover Malaysia's colonial past. Then, we move to the most populous island of Indonesia - Java, where we visit world- famous complexes of Borobudur and Prambanan and gaze into craters of Bromo and Ijen volcanoes. Finally, we visit beautiful Bali where we relish stunning nature and learn about the island's unique culture.

Is this trip for you?

The trip is of light physical grade. Expect long city walks and easy walks in national parks. The trip also includes several long daytime rides in hired minivans or off-road vehicles with lots of sightseeing on the way. We will also take four short flights in Malaysia and Indonesia. We will stay in simple hotels and guesthouses, all will have Wi-Fi internet, hot water and air conditioning or fans 

Price of the trip includes:

  • Four domestic and international flights (Kuala-Lumpur - Penang - Kuala-Lumpur, Kuala-Lumpur - Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta - Surabaya); 
  •  All accommodation, including twin and triple rooms of simple hotels; 
  • All transportation including buses, boats, ferries, hired and public transport;
  • Professional guiding services;
  • Rafting on Bali river.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Kuala Lumpur and back home from Bali; 
  • Medical insurance (mandatory); 
  • Entrance fees to temples, parks and other attractions (up to $180);
  • Food ($8-20 per person per day).

Tour itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, checking into a hotel.

Day 2

We visit holy Hindu Batu caves, then head to the world’s largest covered bird park and explore Petronas twin towers with a lush park around them. For dinner we head to the famous Alor Street known for its Chinese seafood and other mouthwatering Asian dishes.

Day 3

Bus to Malacca, the oldest town in Malaysia. We visit the History and Ethnography Museum, ride a boat down the Malacca river, explore the old town and remains of the fort. After lunch we go back to Kuala Lumpur (2 hours) and fly to Penang island (1 hour) where we check into a hotel in the center.
