Tour itinerary

Day 1-2

Beaches of the Dead sea, Ajlun fort, Antique ruins of Jerash

We arrive in Amman and head to the Dead Sea (1 hour drive). Ready to enjoy our first day on the beach? We are 427 meters below sea level - the lowest point on our planet. Let`s swim, supported by salt water, try the famous therapeutic mud, and admire the views.

In the morning we leave for Ajlun (an hour on the way). The town boasts ruins of a fortress built by the Crusaders in the 12th century. Romantics and fanatics from all over Europe traveled here, to the Holy Land, to free the Holy Sepulcher from the Arabs. We will climb the once impregnable walls to feel like ancient warriors and enjoy the views of the endless valleys.

We arrive in Jerash - a city famous for its grandiose antique ruins. For centuries they were hidden under a thick layer of sand and soil after several earthquakes. We walk among the ruins of ancient temples, and in the evening head to Amman (an hour on the way).

Day 3

The capital Amman, Citadel and Roman ruins, Oriental bazaar, Rainbow Street

A traditional breakfast in Jordan consists of hummus, pita bread, olives, salad and dates with strong coffee. We will have enough energy to explore the bustling capital! Let's start with an iconic place - the Citadel, the ruins of the Roman theater, and the Temple of Hercules. The views of the old city from here are amazing!

Let`s explore the real Oriental bazaar. If you wish, you can buy local fruits, and nuts, enjoy a cup of traditional coffee or tea and hunt for very unusual souveniers.

Next, we move on to modern Amman. In the evening we will go for a walk along Rainbow Street - the central street of the old city. It is home to many historic buildings as well as the most popular restaurants and pubs.

Day 4

Madaba city, The most ancient map of Holy Land, St. George Orthodox Church, Church of St. John the Baptist

We head to the most Christian city of Jordan - Madaba (about half an hour on the way). It is also known as a mosaic city because of the large number of ancient mosaics that have survived from all times - from ancient Greek to Islamic. We check into a hotel and begin our explorations of the city.

We will visit the 19th century St. George Orthodox Church, which is famous for the Madaba Map - a huge 6th century floor mosaic. This is the world's oldest map of the Holy Land! Then we go to the Church of St. John the Baptist, where the ruins of an ancient temple were recently discovered. A Christian church was later built on its foundation.

In the evening we will enjoy the most popular local dish, mansaf - juicy lamb served with rice, nuts and dried fruits. For dessert, be sure to try knafe - sweets made from cheese dough and aromatic syrup.
