We begin in Borneo by visiting giant caves in Mulu national park and meeting wild animals in Bako. We also enjoy pristine beaches, and in Brunei visit the largest water village in the world. Then we move to colonial towns of Penang and Malacca, and explore bustling Kuala Lumpur. Expect impressive temples, cultural heritage and finger-licking food.

This trip is of easy physical grade. It includes walks in cities and easy walks in national parks. We will take five short flights and several short bus rides. We will also take a ferry and speed boats. Accommodation in double (sometimes triple and more) rooms of hotels and guesthouses, all will have hot water and wi fi internet.

Price of the trip includes:

  • Five flights (Kuala Lumpur - Kuching, Kuching - Mulu, Mulu - Miri, Kota Kinabalu - Penang, Penang - Melacca);
  • Accommodation in double (sometimes triple and more) rooms of hotels and guesthouses during the entire trip;
  • All transportation, including buses, a ferry, speedboats and airport transfers;
  • Professional guiding services.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Kuala Lumpur and back home;
  • Medical insurance (mandatory);
  • Entry tickets to museums, parks, and other places of interest during the trip ($100);
  • Food ($15-20 per person per day in Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei, $10 per person per day in Malaysia);
  • Visas.

Tour itinerary

Day 1-5

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur, flight to Kuching in Sarawak state, where we check into a hotel on the river front. We will visit famous History museum dedicated to the tribal heritage of Borneo and enjoy seafood on the famous local food court. We take a day trip to Bako national park where we walk in the jungle, swim and watch proboscis monkeys and bearded pig - unique animals of Borneo. Flight to Mulu, Borneo's most famous and remote national park. Here we will check into a guesthouse near the river and visit four enormous caves, one of which was considered the largest in the world. We will enjoy canopy walk, swim in crystal clear water and take a night safari in the jungle. At the end of our stay we fly to Miri and check into a hotel.

Day 6-7

Morning bus to Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei (2 hours on the way). Check into a guesthouse in the center. We will spend a day in Brunei's capital, exploring the largest water village in the world. We will also take a boat to the jungle backwaters where we might see birds, animals and Borneo's famous long-nosed proboscis monkeys. We will also visit Sultan Regalia museum and eye-catching Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. In the morning we take a ferry to Kota Kinabalu (1.5 hours), via the island of Labuan where we can do some duty free shopping. From Labuan we take a speedboat to the nearby Minumbok, and from there ride jeeps to Kota Kinabalu through remote villages (4-5 hours). In Kota Kinabalu and check into a hotel in the center.

Day 8-9

During our two days in Kota Kinabalu we will enjoy the islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, where we can swim, snorkel and marvel at virgin nature. We will also take a trip to the nearby Kinabalu Park at the foot of the famous Kinabalu mount. There we will walk on the ropeways 30 meters above jungle, visiting Poring Hot Springs. Seafood lovers are guaranteed to spend evenings at a local fish market and seafood court attached to it. At the end of our stay we fly to Penang and check into a hotel in historic district.
