Tour itinerary

Day 1-2

The capital, Lima, Historical center, Barranco beaches

We arrive in Lima, the capital of Peru, and check into a hotel. After some rest we begin our walk in the historical center of the city, founded by Spanish colonists in 1535. The architecture is impressive! We walk along the central square, admiring the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace and the City Hall. Here, for the first time, we will pay attention to the famous old balconies of Lima.

We move to the modern area of Miraflores. Expensive boutiques, luxury hotels, clubs ... And suddenly we stumble upon a huge pyramid of mud bricks. This is Huaca Puclana - a pyramid built by the people of the Lima civilization more than a thousand years ago, even before the Incas.

The next day we head to the Barranco area. Let`s explore romantic streets, watch the work of local artists and the life of the Peruvian bohemia. Next, we enjoy the beach, where surfers from all over the world come. Lovely!

Day 3

Cusco, Maras salt fields, Mora terraces

In the morning we head to the airport and fly to Cusco. There we check into a hotel in the center. The city is the capital of the Incas, which is located 3300 meters above sea level. But we will explore it a little later. Today we head to no less impressive masterpieces of the Incas - the agricultural terraces of Mora and the salt mines of Maras. We will get there by rented transport in about an hour.

The first stop is the terraces where the Incas grew vegetables and beans. In many other cultures such terraces encircle the mountain slopes, but the Incas came up with the idea of digging them up. Scientists estimate that the lowest terrace is 15 degrees colder than the highest. Therefore, here they could grow plants that need very different conditions.

We walk to the equally impressive Maras salt fields. Here the Incas used their imagination to learn how to evaporate salt from an underground source. And this process continues - each local family owns a part of the salt field, mining salt for their own needs and for sale. Even decorations and jewelry are made from salt here!

Day 4

Sacred valley of the incas, Hike in the jungle

After breakfast we take a bus to Agua Calientes (6 hours). On the way, we admire the mountain views of the Sacred valley of the incas, watch the locals dressed in bright traditional clothes and alpacas, which the owners lovingly dress in bright decorations and capes. We stop in a picturesque place to walk in the jungle, enjoying the silence and singing of birds. Wonderful views of the Andes open up from here. This walk will take approximately two hours.

We reach Agua Calientes. This village originated near the hot springs in 1931, when the railway was built here, and the first tourists began to visit the nearby Machu Picchu. We check into a guesthouse, walk around the village, relax in thermal springs.
