Tour itinerary

Day 1

Bishkek, Ala-too square, Osh bazaar

We arrive in Bishkek and check into a friendly hotel in the downtown, where travelers from all countries usually stay. We begin our small group trip to Kyrgyzstan with a walk to the central Ala-too square. All the famous Kyrgyz revolutions took place here. Let`s admire the the monument to Manas, the hero of the longest epic in the world!

We walk to the Osh bazaar, known as the biggest in the country. Here you can not only observe local life, but also try traditional horse sausage and authentic cold drinks - bozo and maksym. But do not overdo it! After all, for dinner we head to an authentic restaurant of Kyrgyz cuisine outside the city.

Day 2-3

Hot springs of Issyk-Ata, Burana tower, Issyk-Kul lake

We wake up early in the morning and take a rented bus to Issyk-Ata (an hour and a half on the way). This small resort village is located 2400 meters above sea level. We will check into a hotel and go for a walk through the picturesque meadows to the waterfall. Let`s enjoy the hot springs, a riot of grasses and flowers and stunning views of the mountains covered with eternal snow.

The next morning we leave for Karakol (6-7 hours on the road). On the way, we will visit the ancient minaret of the 10th century, known as the Burana tower. Here we will see many idols cut from stone by the ancient people. We reach the famous Issyk-Kul lake. The water here is so clear that every grain of sand is visible at the bottom. And what is it on the horizon?.. Weightless clouds, or snowy mountains? We get to the town of Cholpon-Ata, check into a hotel and visit the open-air museum of Saka petroglyphs - ancient rock paintings.

Day 4-5

"Seven Bulls" gorge, Kyzylsu hot springs., Salt lake

In the morning we leave for the "Seven Bulls" gorge of Jety - Oguz (about 3 hours on the way). We walk along the red sandstone rocks, and reach the waterfall. Those who wish can ride on horseback. We reach the Kyzylsu hot springs. While we are relaxing in the blissful waters, restless ones can wander through the mountain forest. In the evening we visit the house of a local residents at an altitude of about 3000 meters above sea level. We will spend the night here, after enjoying delicious pilaf and tea, and the traditional bath. By the way, there is no electricity or mobile communication here. Our guided tour to Kyrgyzstan has taken us to a paradise!

In the morning we drive to the snow-covered plateau and the lakes at an altitude of about 4000 meters. Only eternal snow and naked tundra - makes one wonder about similar landscapes on planets far from the Earth... We are heading back to Issyk-Kul, then resting by the “dead” salt lake, which is known in the country for its healing waters. We spend the night at a hotel in Kochkor.

Is this trip for you?

This trip is suitable for people with average health. It includes short jeep rides and visiting natural spots, most of them far from main roads and civilisation. We will walk a lot and endure below zero Celsius temperatures at night and +25 Celsius during days. We will also visit a mountain pass of 4000 meters above sea level. Accommodation in simple hotels, guesthouses, houses of locals and yurts. In hotels and guesthouses we will have hot water and wi fi. In houses of locals we will be using traditional saunas.
