Day 1 - 2
We arrive in the capital of Nairobi, check into a hotel and begin our group trip to Kenya. After a short rest head on a safari to Nairobi National Park. It is located just seven kilometers from the bustling center of the capital of Kenya. You watch giraffes, zebras, elephants and rhinos, against the background of the skyscrapers. What a view! In the evening we return to Nairobi and enjoy dinner in the famous place - the Carnivore restaurant, open since 1980. Previously, it was known for a barbecue made from wild animals. But the changes in meat did not affect the taste and atmosphere!
The next morning, we leave for Lake Naivasha (2.5 hours on the way), which is located at the foot of Longonot volcano. We will be boating on the lake, enjoying views of the Great Rift Valley and tea plantations, and also mooring in small pieces of land to see hippos, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes and exotic birds nearby. In the evening we check into the hotel.
We wake up before dawn and begin our walk to the top of the Longonot volcano. In about one hour we reach the crater at an altitude of 2776 meters above sea level. Longonot does not look like a typical volcano, because inside the crater there is a forest filled with zebras, giraffes, antelopes and buffaloes. Life here fully recovered after the last eruption in 1863.
In about 3 hours we will go around the entire crater, enjoying views of the lakes at the foot of the volcano and the forest with animals inside the crater. We descend from the volcano and return to Nairobi (approximately 2.5 hours on the way) where we will continue our guided tour to Kenya.
Day 4 - 5
In the morning we go to the airport and fly to Lodwar, and then we head to the village of Eliye Springs (1.5 hours on the way). Our guided tour to Kenya continues! We check into a hotel near the village and get acquainted with the locals and their very simple life. They still live in simple houses made of clay, carry water from springs, and cook food on the open fire. Children help their parents to watch the cattle and play ball on the streets - a typical African village. But it is famous as the place where the remains of the ancestors of Homo sapiens were found. Dating back more than 300 thousand years, they are now on display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington. Was it in this village that human civilization was born? Probably so!
In the morning we board a boat that takes us to Central Island National Park. This will be an unforgettable trip on the Lake Turkana, as we will be boating between dozens of volcanoes with craters filled with small lakes. We will enjoy incredible views, see many crocodiles and flocks of flamingos and feel the power and fragility of the Black Continent. In the evening we return to the hotel in Eliye Springs.
Day 6 - 7
After breakfast we leave for Lodwar (1.5 hours) and fly to Nairobi. We continue our small group trip to Kenya and travel to Amboseli National Park (up to 4 hours on the way) and check into a camping near the entrance to the park. Next morning we begin our safari. Famous photographs of wild animals against the snow-capped peaks of Africa's highest point - Mount Kilimanjaro are made here!
Next, we head to the Masai village, home to the most famous people of Africa. We will see how they live in very simple huts and craft their traditional jewelry, admire bright national clothes and even watch the dance of warriors famous all over the world! Before marrying and acquiring his own household, a young man must learn this dance and prove his mastery to the elders!
Day 8 - 9
Early in the morning we leave for Mombasa, the main port of Kenya (6-7 hours on the way). We explore the old district, where Arabian culture is mixed with Indian, and British architecture is adjacent to Portuguese. We head to Fort Jesus - a Portuguese fortress of the 16th century. In the 19th century, when the British captured Kenya, they began to use it as a prison. We walk along the walls 18 meters high, admire the finds from the ancient ships sunken off the coast of Mombasa.
In the evening we drive to Diani Beach, the best beach in the country (1.5 hours on the way) and check into the hotel. The next day is free. We will enjoy the wonderful beach, clear water and views of the vibrant jungle. Kenya has the best beaches in Africa! Those interested can explore the underwater world by taking diving lessons or snorkelling.
In the morning we fly to Nairobi. If there is time before your flight home, we advise you to walk along the souvenir shops. High quality local coffee, nuts, colored glassware, ebony figurines, and traditional Masai wraps are usually brought from Kenya. Lovers of handbags will be delighted with local leather goods and Kiondo, a handwoven handbag made from sisal with leather trimmings.
We fly home. Our group trip to Kenya has come to an end. Thank you for exploring this country with us!
