We begin with coffee. On picturesque plantations we learn about coffee production. Then we move to the beautiful islands of Cayos Cochinos and Utila, located in the middle of the unique coral reef. Waterfalls, canopy over the jungle, exotic birds and, of course, Copan - one of the largest cities of the ancient maya!

  • Day 1
    Arrival in Tegusigalpa, trip to Lake Yojoa. This is the largest lake in Honduras, surrounded by bright coffee plantations. Night in a bungalow.
  • Day 2
    In the morning, we’ll have a coffee plantation tour and will learn about technologies of coffee production. Honduran coffee is thought to be one of the best in the world! We’ll also walk around the lake looking for exotic birds. After lunch – kayaking on the lake.
  • Day 3
    In the morning, we’ll go to Pulhapanzak waterfall. Swimming, water jumping, you can also try canopy (a kind of rope sliding above the jungle). Afternoon transfer to San Pedro Sula, check-in at the hotel.
  • Day 4
    Walk around the city, enjoying views from the Coca-Cola observation deck. Afternoon transfer to the city of La Ceiba (3 hours). We’ll stay in a bungalow in a reserve area on the shore of a mountain river.
  • Day 5
    In the morning, we’ll have rafting in the canyon of the Cangrejal River (4-5 hours). Then, we’ll walk through Pico Bonito National Park (4 hours), known for its exotic birds.
  • Day 6
    In the morning, we’ll go by sea to Cayos Cochinos – tiny islands in the midst of a unique coral reef. There are no roads here, and any motor transport is forbidden. We’ll enjoy snorkeling, diving and seafood. In the evening, we’ll return to the hotel in La Ceiba.
  • Day 7-9
    We’ll go to the island of Utila (1 hour by ferry) and check-in at the hotel. This is one of the cheapest places in the world to receive a diving certificate. The island is also famous for swimming with whale sharks. Non-divers can enjoy the beaches, go for kayaking, walk through the beautiful jungle, explore the restaurants and attend famous island parties.
  • Day 10
    Early in the morning, we’ll say goodbye to the Caribbean and move to the city of Copan just a few miles from the border with Guatemala. Checking-in at the hotel in Copan.
  • Day 11-12
    Copan is one of the main ancient sites of the Mayans. Remnants of palaces, temples and stellas are very well preserved here. We will also visit a bird park with dozens of species of parrots and toucans. We’ll also visit the resort of thermal springs. Those who wish can ride horses and visit the small villages of ancient Maya nearby. Bus to Tegucigalpa, flight back home.
  • Day 13
    Bus to Tegusigalpa (or Guatemala city) and flight back home.

Is this trip for you?

This tips is of average physical grade. It is suitable for most people in average physical shape. The trip includes walks in cities and national parks. We will be moving around in buses and boats. Accommodation in double/twin rooms of tourist class hotels. Most will have hot water and wi fi internet.

The price of the trip includes:

  • Accommodation during the entire trip;
  • All transportation including buses, boats, taxi and public transportation during the entire trip;
  • Entance tickets to parks, Copan, waterfalls and rafting;
  • Professional guiding services.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Tegucigalpa and from Tegucigalpa back home;
  • Bus from Copan to Tegucigalpa ($50+$20 for one night in the hotel);
  • Insurance (mandatory);
  • Food ($10-15 per day);
  • Diving (OWD, AOW, Rescue costs $275), 2 dives $70, 10 dives $300), snorkeling ($20), kayaking ($10-20);
  • Entry fee to Honduras ($3).
