Tour itinerary

Day 1-3

Чичен-Ица, Исла Мухерес, Юкатанские сеноте

We begin our group trip to Mexico when we arrive in Cancun and take a ferry to one of the most picturesque islands of the country - Isla Mujeres! After checking into a hotel, we will enjoy beautiful beaches, walk to the Southern cape, begin our acquaintance with the famous Mexican cuisine. Be sure to snorkel - the local underwater world can not be left unexplored! Those interested can even visit the museum under the water and see hundreds of unusual sculptures on the seabed. Tired and satisfied, we return to Cancun by ferry on the afternoon of the second day and take a comfortable night bus to the world-famous ancient Mayan city - Palenque.

In the morning we check into a hotel near Palenque and head to the archaeological complex. Palenque flourished in 7th century and was considered the center of the ancient Mayan civilization. Scientists believe that of all the Mayan cities, Palenque boasts the best preserved sculptures, facade elements and inscriptions. The researchers claim that the wild jungles around the ruins of the city harbor even more secrets and the main part of Palenque remains buried under a thicket of trees. Who said that there is no place in the world for new discoveries?!

Day 4-5

San Cristobal de las Casas

Our guided tour to Mexico takes us to San Cristobal de las Casas (about 5 hours on the way). On the way we stop near Misol Ha waterfall. The purest water falls here into a natural pool from a height of 35 meters, all in the middle of the pristine jungle. What a great place to swim! Next stop is the Aqua Azul waterfalls. They look nothing like the previous one and consists of several small cascades about 6 meters high. The water here contains a lot of calcium, which is deposited on the stones with unusual patterns. After waterfall relaxation, we reach the city and check into a hotel.

San Cristobal de las Casas is an old colonial city where old Spanish colorful houses and elegant architecture are preserved. We will walk in the center to see the most colorful sights, and visit the old Indian village of San Juan Chamula. Photographing here is not easy - after all, local Tzotzil people believe that photographs spoil the souls of people. We will visit a very unusual Christian church to see the original Mayan rites, which you will not see anywhere else. For example, hens are sacrificed here, people drink local alcohol and dance!

Day 6-8

Beaches of the Pacific ocean

In the morning we leave for the Sumidero canyon where we will continue our guided tour to Mexico. It is not as popular as, for example, the Grand Canyon in the USA, but much deeper - the height of these steep cliffs reaches a kilometer! We take a boat trip along the river and walk to several panoramic spots to appreciate the view from above. In the evening, we board a comfortable night bus and head to the village of Pochutla, which is located on the Pacific ocean coast (12 hours on the way).

We check into a hotel and enjoy the beaches. We will also visit the beaches of the surrounding towns and take a walk to Punta Cometa, the southernmost point in the state of Oaxaca. Sunsets here are breathtaking! Next, we celebrate the New Year in one of the best seafood restaurants right on the beach to the fiery rhythms of salsa. Just one tip - pay special attention to the shrimp and octopus ceviche. Seafood are seasoned with lime juice, sprinkled with chili pepper, and served with corn and cubes of potato. Yum! The next day is free. You can educate yourself in the Turtle center, visit the lagoon with crocodiles and iguanas, or relax on the beach.
